We talk to customers with water problems every day. Sometimes it’s home flooding. Sometimes it’s to control erosion. Sometimes it’s to resolve standing water concerns. Sometimes it’s to fix runoff issues caused by factors not even on your own property. Or, sometimes it’s several of these factors coming together. Managing water includes assessment of all factors, and that’s exactly what we do to find the best drainage solution for you.
There’s no one-size-fits-all solution to water problems, so our first goal when we arrive is to find the source of the issue with some detective work. We’ll do a lot of listening and will likely ask several questions too. We’ll look at grade, slope, roof runoff and several other factors, and then we’ll formulate a game plan.
Living Right Outdoors specializes in french drains, which provide a proven and aesthetic way to effectively manage runoff. In simple terms, a french drain is a collection basin with gravel and pipe that moves the water where we tell it to go. The trench is the key to capturing and moving the water, and the gravel and pipe help move the water long-term. There’s a lot more to it than simply digging a trench and throwing materials in the ground, and we have the expertise and experience to do it right the first time. If you want to see our expertise in action, we do live Facebook videos of our projects to show and explain what we’re doing and why. Feel free to check them out.
“I already have a french drain that doesn’t work – why will yours?”
Make sure you’re confident in who you’re hiring because, unfortunately, we repair or replace poorly installed systems a lot. We have a history of solving existing french drain problems: some require only a minimal fix, and others can just be wrong and need a full replacement.
A french drain can solve many issues, but it isn’t always the solution, and one thing we won’t do is sell you something you don’t need. Consultations are always free, so it never hurts to give us a call. We’re happy to come take a look and find a solution to your specific issue.
Is a French Drain Right For You?
A berm is another option to correct a lawn drainage problem. A berm is a small hill covered with grass used to divert water and tell it where to go. We’ll work with you to find the right solutions for your specific problem and landscape set-up.
Properly constructed walls can meet a critical need while adding a nice look to your property (and add value to the property). When railroad ties won’t cut it, this may be your water control solution. Just like in our french drain systems, we use superior materials in our retaining walls to ensure your wall will stand the test of time.
